Violent Outbursts by Israeli Settlers Following Deadly Attack

After a deadly attack on Israelis in the West Bank, there have been incidents of Israeli settlers engaging in violent acts against Palestinians. According to Israeli media reports on Wednesday, several dozen settlers set fire to shops, vehicles, fields, a gas station, and olive trees. Additionally, in response to the attack, dozens of settlers returned to the Eviatar settlement outpost, which had been evacuated two years ago.

Two Palestinian assailants near a settlement in the West Bank killed four Israelis and injured four others on Tuesday. They opened fire on a gas station and a restaurant close to Eli. Both attackers were killed. The Islamist Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip, stated that the men belonged to the organization's military wing.

Hamas referred to the attack as a response to Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including a military operation in the city of Jenin on Monday, which resulted in the deaths of six Palestinians, including militant fighters. Additionally, a 15-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries, as reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health. This brings the death toll to seven.

Jenin is known as a stronghold of militant Palestinians, and it frequently experiences confrontations with the Israeli military. The army has increased raids in the West Bank following a series of attacks on Israelis.

Since the beginning of the year, a total of 133 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military operations, confrontations, or their own attacks. During the same period, 22 Israelis, one Ukrainian, and one Italian lost their lives in attacks. Israel captured the West Bank and East Jerusalem during the Six-Day War in 1967. The Palestinians demand these territories for their own state.
