Putin Holds Phone Talks with Iranian President Raisi Russian President Vladimir Putin has conducted phone talks with his Iranian counterpart, Ebrahim Raisi, according to a statement released by the Kremlin.

Putin and Raisi Discuss Coup Attempt and Syria During their conversation, Putin expressed his full support to the Russian government regarding the attempted coup that occurred on June 24. The leaders also discussed the prospects for further development between Moscow and Tehran, with a focus on practical implementation of agreements in the areas of trade, energy, and transportation.

International Agenda on the Table Putin and Raisi also discussed a number of issues on the international agenda, including ensuring stability in the South Caucasus and resolving the conflict in Syria.
