EU imposes new sanctions against Iran The EU Council has imposed sanctions against several high-ranking Iranians for human rights violations. According to a statement published on the official website of the EU Council, restrictive measures under the 9th package of sanctions against Iran are imposed on the chief prosecutor of Isfahan province, Seyyed Mohammad Musavian, other representatives of the judiciary, and military personnel from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who suppressed protesters in 2022.
