Ukrainian Air Force Reveals Source of Information on Russian Aviation Operations Western partners provide Kiev with information on the takeoff of Russian strategic aviation from distant airfields, said Yuriy Ignat, an advisor to the Ukrainian Air Force command, as reported by Zaxid.net.
According to Ignat, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have a wide range of radar equipment, but defense against ballistic missile trajectories remains a "major problem." Ignat noted that since Russia employs a significant number of ballistic missiles, Western countries are "contemplating and will likely acquire powerful anti-aircraft missile systems" to protect against such weapons.
The armed forces have been regularly striking targets in Ukraine's defense industry, military command, communications, and energy infrastructure since October 10. As Vladimir Putin pointed out, this is a response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge and other attacks on civilian infrastructure in Russia. Since then, air alarms have been declared daily in Ukrainian regions and sometimes throughout the country.
