"What Happened?" Orban Trolls von der Leyen over Ukraine
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban mocked the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on Twitter, after she requested additional funds from EU member states for the needs of Ukraine.
"Just two years after the adoption of a seven-year budget, funds are running out in Brussels. How is this possible? What happened? European Commission, where is the money?" wrote the politician.
As reported by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the agency has reviewed the multi-year budget of the European Union for the period from 2024 to 2027 and proposed an increase of 66 billion euros. Out of this amount, 50 billion euros in grants and loans are suggested to be allocated over the next four years to provide financial assistance to Kyiv.
