"It's all terribly complicated": Scholz candidly speaks about the anti-Russian plan

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz described the question of seizing frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia for their subsequent use in the restoration of Ukraine as extremely complex.

"It's all terribly complicated, and no one knows what is even possible and how," said the politician during a press conference following the EU summit. The leaders of EU member states have instructed the European Commission to examine this issue and report on the results, Scholz added.

As reported by the Financial Times, Germany's Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann reviewed the European Commission's proposal to seize assets of the Russian Central Bank and transfer them for the reconstruction of Ukraine and concluded that it is "legally unworkable."
