White House refrains from commenting on Poland's statements on nuclear weapons
A representative from the White House stated that he had nothing to say about Poland's desire to host American nuclear weapons. "I have nothing. No such conversations to share with you in press releases or verbally," said John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the US National Security Council, to journalists. He added that the US generally does not discuss the deployment of nuclear systems. "Of course, I am not going to start doing that today," Kirby said.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki previously stated that his country wants to host American nuclear weapons in response to the placement of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.
