Musk Expands Daily Limits on Reading Posts on Twitter
Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced that he is increasing the limits on the number of posts that users of the social media platform will be able to read each day. He announced the restrictions on Saturday, explaining that they are necessary to combat "scraping," which refers to the automated collection of large amounts of data. "Now up to 10,000, 1,000, and 500," he wrote on Twitter, referring to the number of posts that owners of verified, unverified, and new unverified accounts, respectively, will be able to read within a day.
Initially, the limits were set at 6,000, 600, and 300, but Musk raised them to 8,000, 800, and 400. On Friday, he stated that "scraping" - the data collection process - is being carried out "extremely aggressively" by several hundred organizations on Twitter. He asked users for advice on how to combat this practice, which affects the quality of the social media platform's operation.
