Russia Declares Readiness to Expand Contacts with the Chinese Navy at All Levels

Russia is ready to expand contacts with the Chinese Navy at all levels and continue joint exercises and patrols of the naval forces of both countries, said Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, during a meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shanfu on Monday.

"Russia is ready to continue expanding exchanges between the naval forces of the two countries at all levels, jointly organize important training events, including joint naval exercises and patrols," stated Yevmenov, as quoted by the Chinese Ministry of Defense.

He noted that the Russian side is also prepared to continuously elevate the relations between the two countries and the armed forces of both states to a new level.

Furthermore, according to Yevmenov, Russia attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation between the military forces of Russia and China.

"Russia attaches great importance to enhancing practical cooperation between the armed forces of Russia and China in all areas, is ready to maintain close coordination with China, and steadfastly implement important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries," said Yevmenov, as quoted by the Chinese Ministry of Defense.
