China Expresses Hope for Expanded Cooperation with the Russian Navy
China hopes to expand its cooperation with the Russian Navy in order to jointly contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability in the region and the world as a whole, stated China's Minister of Defense, Li Shanfu, during a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Nikolai Yevmenov, on Monday.
"The Chinese Navy and the Russian Navy maintain close contacts and constant interaction. We hope that the parties will strengthen cooperation at all levels, regularly organize joint exercises, joint patrols, and joint competitions, expand practical cooperation in the professional sphere, and jointly make a positive contribution to the defense of peace and stability in the region and the world," stated the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China, quoting Li Shanfu.
Li Shanfu also pointed out that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, the exchange and cooperation between the armed forces of Russia and China are steadily developing.
"I am convinced that through the joint efforts of both sides, the relations between the armed forces of the two countries will continue to deepen and strengthen, as well as continuously develop and reach new heights," emphasized the head of the Chinese Ministry of Defense.
