Djokovic Begins Title Defense at Wimbledon with a Victory

Defending Wimbledon champion, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, advanced to the second round of the tournament.

In the first round, Djokovic (seeded second) defeated Argentina's Pedro Cachin with a score of 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4). The match lasted for 2 hours and 11 minutes. The encounter was interrupted by rain after the first set. During the break, the Serbian tennis player helped the court staff by drying the surface with his towel. The tournament's Twitter account reported that the world number two told his team, "Blow, we need everyone's help."

In the next round, Djokovic will face Australian player Jordan Thompson.

In June, Djokovic claimed a record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam title, securing his third victory at the French Open. If Djokovic succeeds at Wimbledon, he will equal Swiss player Roger Federer's record of eight titles at the tournament.

In another first-round match at Wimbledon, Polish player Hubert Hurkacz (seeded 17th) defeated Spain's Albert Ramos with a score of 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.
