Woman Killed in Alligator Attack in the United States

A woman has died as a result of an alligator attack in the state of South Carolina, as reported by the sheriff's office.

"The alligator has been safely removed from the area, and the woman's body has been discovered," stated the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, as quoted by CBS.

According to authorities, the attack occurred in the morning while the victim was walking her dog. The woman, 69 years old, was a local resident.
