Ukrainian Strike on Makeyevka Damages Hospital Complex
A hospital complex in Makeyevka suffered damages as a result of the Ukrainian strike, according to a source in the city administration cited by RIA Novosti.
"The Ukrainian strike on Makeyevka targeted the hospital complex. Information about the casualties is being clarified," the agency's source said. Earlier this evening, an RIA Novosti correspondent reported explosions in Donetsk and Makeyevka. Preliminary information suggests that the air defense system was operational. Prior to this, the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) representation in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired ten shells at Makeyevka and sixteen at Donetsk in the evening.
In the Petrovsky district of the DPR capital, two civilians were killed, and two others were injured, including a five-year-old girl.
Makeyevka is a satellite city of Donetsk, located northeast of the regional capital. In 2014, it had a population of approximately 350,000 people. Since 2014, Ukrainian military forces have regularly shelled Donetsk and other populated areas in the Donbass region.
