Ukrainian State Statistics Service Falls Victim to Cyberattack
The Ukrainian State Statistics Service has announced that it has been targeted in a cyberattack, leading to the suspension of data provision to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces regarding the country's economy, demographics, employment, and labor migration.
"The State Statistics Service of Ukraine has been subjected to a cyberattack. Currently, our employees, together with CERT-UA specialists, are working to mitigate its consequences. Due to the disruption, we have ceased providing statistical data to Ukrainian authorities, media outlets, scientific communities, and other interested organizations," the statement from the statistics service read on their Facebook page.
The service emphasized that the centralized accounting of entrepreneurial activities has also been disrupted, hindering assistance to tax authorities in monitoring the activities of commercial companies.
"In addition, the provision of statistical data related to the areas of economy, demographics, employment, and labor migration to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been suspended," the statistics service noted.
