"Unabomber" Dead at 81

Ted Kaczynski, the US attacker, known as the "Unabomber," has reportedly died at the age of 81. His attacks killed three people and injured more than 20 others.

Ted Kaczynski, known as the "Unabomber" for his mysterious bombings across the United States, which caused fear and terror, has reportedly died at the age of 81 in a prison in North Carolina, according to ABC News, citing the US prison authorities. Kaczynski was found dead in his cell, and the cause of death is currently unknown.

The former math professor conducted bombings between 1978 and 1995, primarily targeting universities and airlines. He gained the nickname "Unabomber" from the combination of the first letters of his targets.

Kaczynski had been living as a recluse in a cabin in the mountains until 1996 when he was arrested on a tip from his brother. Despite being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, he was sentenced to life in prison in 1998 after pleading guilty to his charges.

The prosecution claimed that Kaczynski was motivated by his hatred for technology. In September 1995, the "New York Times" and the "Washington Post" published Kaczynski's long-manifesto in which he expressed his disgust for modern technology and the world. In exchange, Kaczynski promised to end his bombing campaign.
